Back to Business - Using free Classifieds
Well after a short vacation it's back to business. I thought today I would discuss the concept of using free online classified ads or service ads to help you with your SEO campaign.
Everyone knows that internet is growing at alarming rates. This is good, you can find sites all over the internet that allow you to post free classified ads.
This can be seen with the boom of http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html. The key to this type of advertising is it can bring you into a very localized area of business or just the opposite and give you a very broad area of business. Depending on your business you may want to focus on free localized ads.
Example:
If your business is a dog grooming business and has a brick and mortar store front, you most likely do not want to advertise in California if your business is located in NYC.
However, if in this same dog grooming business you have a very unique type of dog food or biscuits that you want to ship all of the country, then you can focus your ad to do so.
When considering this type of advertising make sure that your ad targets the right customers. Give them enough information to be curious to click through to your site without giving away the entire store.
This is another easy method of getting your site listed with the major search engines. Make sure that you put your URL in the ad even if they have a spot for your URL when posting the ad. Be careful here, make sure there is no disclaimer that warns against doing this. Also, make sure that your posting your ad to the appropriate category. I can tell you that people do not like to read ads that they are not looking for. If they are posted in the wrong category, chances are that you will most likely turn away customers.
Don't forget that offer. Make it big and make it strong.
